SHUNYATHA, PURITY, ZERO STATE OR NOTHINGNESS

SHUNYATHA, PURITY, ZERO STATE OR NOTHINGNESS

1.Zero is a prerequisite for accuracy in physical measurement or in human Intelligent perception: Both in Mathematics and Philosophy of mind, Indian researchers are said to have discovered  Zero or nothingness with symbol ‘0’ as starting point to measure or respond accurately. Unless the measuring vessel is empty (0) before use, accurate measurement will not be possible. In case of weighing machine or a gas vending machine, or any precision measuring instrument, the reading has to be pre set to zero before use. Similarly, even human mind has to be free from pre-conceptions, if it has to perceive the new situation afresh and accurately.

2. IT IS ALSO THE Meditation State:

Most, if not all, Indian saints have prescribed Shunyata, Zero, Pure ‘I’ or the Meditation State, as crucial to perceive external event or input accurately, as all responses will be matching and equal to the input, for ending the problem or crisis. Otherwise, only when our response boomerangs or brings up a new problem, we realize that there was an error in perception. If Zero or Meditation state was protected in all during early childhood, there wouldn’t have been any conflict at all and the world would have been a paradise. Fragmentation can be said to be similar to a calibration error in measuring instruments.

WHY ‘EDUCATION’ ALONE CAN’T IMPROVE HUMAN LIVES OR SOCIETY?

WHY PRESENT ‘EDUCATION’ CAN’T IMPROVE HUMAN LIVES OR SOCIETY?

Problem isn’t with ‘knowledge’, but its User, who can correct himself !

Principles of functioning of the human mind hasn’t changed over the millennia. Only it wasn’t unraveled so far. Perhaps almost all great teachers began preaching or teaching, after seeing the deterioration in quality of human behavior. Most teachers also knew that human behavior involves ‘knowledge in memory’, and began exclusively focusing on improving ‘education’.

2. When education didn’t change ‘human behavior’, then reforms in education began. First reform in education began perhaps as soon as the first school opened on this earth and is continuing at a very fast pace, with no solution in sight to human problems. Reforms in education may often be necessary and useful, but when its user is in trouble, should we not treat or help him first? Since the USER or the Intelligence or the I was invisible, it didn’t strike or it wasn’t thought that there could be any problem with the user of knowledge.

3. All human performances are made up of 2 components: Like any process or work in nature, human performance or action or behavior is also made of 2 components, viz.,e 1) energy and the 2) material used for the process. Here the performer is the human consciousness or intelligence, who is also called as the ‘I’. The material used is the ‘knowledge stored in memory’. Humans are active intellectually or by using knowledge in memory. Life can be compared to a Horse Cart. Here horse is the Dynamic Intelligence or the ‘I’ or Energy, and it always moves along with its cart or the store house of Static Memory and uses it in all its performances. (see above diagram). Imagine, if the horse had an injury in its feet, then it won’t be steady in its movement. It will either be too fast or too slow or inaccurate or excessive in its movement because of limping.

4. Almost all of the human performance is intellectual or ‘memory using’. If human performance or activities have become harmful, dangerous, excessive, irrelevant and even restless, then Knowledge can’t be its cause, however bad the knowledge may be. Knowledge is only a tool or recording in memory and It is the user or the ‘I’, who is responsible for misusing or negligently or carelessly using that knowledge, without discretion. The ‘I’ has lot its ability of discretion due to a small damage in it.

5. Simple understanding of the damage enables us to get rid of the damages: Large number of people today, often seem to be thinking excessively and involuntarily. Essential thinking is Voluntary. But, most of the involuntary thinking is motivated by the damage or duality of the ‘I’. In the default, natural, normal or non-dual state, thinking is voluntary or optional. To return to its natural or normal undivided or unfragmented state, ‘I’ has to stop all its activities and look inwards. When it takes an about turn, all its intellectual activity like thinking stops. One’s eyes are wide open, like that of a child, but one is not thinking. It is called a Meditation State. It is merely ‘not doing anything’ state. Though it may not happen soon or easily, it is to be understood that it is neither impossible nor it takes too long time to begin the process.

One Page of Psychology as a Pure Science

A LAYMAN’S PSYCHOLOGY IN A PAGE

1. It is often queer that good people are honored and bad people are punished: All babies are born with the same brain and intelligence at birth, but it is a simple avoidable error in bringing them up, which reduces their ability. All babies are potential Buddha or more. The variation in errors causes variations in emotions resulting in a hierarchy in which the least emotional people sit on top, causing downward exploitation. This in turn is resulting in poverty, exploitation, violence and wars. ‘My knowledge is superior to others’ attitude is due to fragmentation, which is breeding wars in mankind. When the ‘I’ is unfragmented, not only it can discover accurate knowledge, but also it will never bond or get stuck with that knowledge. Being free from knowledge is the ultimate freedom of mankind.

2. The difference in studying other subjects and Psychology is in the direction of focus of the ‘I’: To discover other products or processes in nature, the ‘I’ looks outward. However, to study Psychology or mind, the ‘I’ has to look at itself or inwards. Volumes have been written about the activities or applications of the mind, but the Principles of the process of mind were not covered so far. It is for this reason, Psychology couldn’t become a Pure Science and has remained a Social Science.

3. Let us try to study our minds as common people: We are not specialists or experts or some authority. Authorities are generally bound to some or the other kind of knowledge. Possess any or all knowledge, but stay without being bound by them. That is the tip. To become free, only bindings should go, not knowledge.

4. Healthy and normal human minds are only of 2 types, viz., 1) Non-dualistic or Unfragmented state and 2) Dualistic or Fragmented State. Original default Non-dualistic state of mind, is being lost in most of the people, in childhood itself due to an error in upbringing. Most people worldwide are in the Dualistic State, particularly the knowledge specialists. Since fear or withdrawal is a divided part of the same ‘I’, it motivates or prompts the main or remaining ‘I’ or intelligence to use its ability to act or perform. (‘dualist’ is a coined word here for convenience).

5. Humans are like Independent Sophisticated Biological Computers: Human beings are mobile, discreet with lifelong energy producing metabolic system, which can also correct itself from most diseases and injuries, et all. They can be said to have evolved into fine biological mechanisms to discover, live life fully and protect the self and environment completely. Due to duality, not only the extra ordinary ability is lost, but a large part of mankind has become unable to live un-conflictingly even like animals.

6. Study of mind has to begin from the ‘I’, or its dynamic core or energy, towards its outer wear of ‘knowledge’, which is always changing. Human mind is a natural process, made up of 2 components, viz., 1. Energy or Intelligence or the ‘I’ and 2) Knowledge in Memory.

7. In the above diagram: A : The ‘I’ is the flowing Energy or the dynamic part shown as I, which is same in all human beings. In diagram 2, only because the ‘I’ is damaged or fragmented, the ‘I’ has lost its discretion in those conditioned areas. It is stable in some areas and varying in its conditioned or emotional states, marked in Red. Higher the amount of conditioning, higher the amount of provocation into violence.

B: Lifeless or Static part or Memory is shown as B. This can’t be same, as knowledge or experience has to vary in all inevitably. Everyone’s history is different.

8. Non-dual Psychological State comprises of 2 modes as below :

1 a) Meditation or Childlike State, where The ‘I’ is fully in senses, as shown in diagram 1 a) which means the memory is not used, though it is there. There is only perception but there is no response.

1 b) Normal Active State: Intelligence or ‘I’ functions as follows as shown in diagram 1 b. 1) Perceives external events or situations through 5 senses, 2) Processes by using memory by thinking and analyzing, 3) Responds by matching speech or action by limbs instantly, 4) Perceives signals of urges of protection and procreation and responds discreetly in its unfragmented state.

9. Dual Psychological State has no meditation mode : It is almost always in thinking mode, whether in conditioned thinking or in unconditioned thinking. It is interesting to note that the Dual Psychological State is not always facing or experiencing duality or the conditioning. Yet, it is unable to meditate, because it needs complete attention in senses, whereas, a part of intelligence is stuck in a piece or segment of knowledge in memory, as conditioning. Meditation is possible, after duality ceases completely. It is dualistic only in certain conditioned areas, and this varies in volume and in different people. Following diagram shows how Duality has created a hierarchy of fragmented Intelligence in Society.

The performance of the ‘I’ can’t change easily, without changing its mindset or removing its fragmentation. For instance, people who are involved in destroying the environment, can’t easily stop it, even if it is ending of lives for all.

2. Intelligence is the producer and user of Knowledge

Intelligence Vis-a-vis Knowledge

“Oh, the root of misery is duality. There is no other remedy for it except the realization that I am the consciousness…”—- Ashtavakra Samhita II.16

Isn’t it high time for the discerning and serious to discuss and understand the structures and roles of Intelligence and Knowledge and relationship between them?

Intelligence or the ‘I’  is the energy and it perceives external situations and stores it as Knowledge. In other words, Intelligence produces, uses, consumes, analyzes, mixes, transmits or conveys knowledge to others. Knowledge is the lifeless recording of past perceptions or information stored in memory. Intelligence is the dynamic entity, which has the option and discretion to use. Memory is like swimming pool of knowledge. Intelligence or I is the swimmer. The default state of the ‘I’ is being outside the swimming pool. However, it can toggle between the pool and outside, as many times necessary as possible.

Intelligence, as this author has discovered, isn’t different from the ‘I’. Then what is It is preventing the ‘I’ to say or accept so. Needless to state, that its own structural damage, fragmentation or division is causing this paradox, that has made the ‘I’ to believe and say that it ‘has’ the intelligence. Who else, can say that it has intelligence in its pocket, other than an illusory or aberrated ‘I’?

Unique cells in the human brain produce Intelligence or consciousness or the ‘I’, which is the manifestation of energy supplied from the body. Body feeds the brain to produce intelligence, which in turn perceives and responds to external situations and also takes care of the body. Anything that is produced or formed in nature is also subject to risks of damage in its process.

In the just born child and even for some time later, Intelligence is in its pure, alert, non-indulgent and relaxed form. Intelligence in the child is just observing and is only responding to natural instincts of hunger and bodily hurts. It isn’t thinking or processing the knowledge, because there isn’t any knowledge in its memory. However, even after the knowledge is acquired and gets stored in memory, it is just normal and natural for the ‘I’ to remain alone and independent of memory, but with option and discretion to use memory as and when required. Why then humans are almost always using knowledge or thinking that too needlessly and excessively? It is the precise and essential question that when correctly answered, can help eliminate the root cause of the whole problem of mankind.

Accidental damage followed by an avoidable error of elders in raising children during in the growing years of the brain, is responsible for the permanent partial loss of this innate or natural ability of freedom and discretion in early childhood itself. It is merely an extreme or unnatural external interference of elders, which is enough for the highly sensitive growing intelligence to stall its own correction and remain damaged lifelong.

If there is a letter, article, pronoun or even an entity, which is the most widely known and used, but never understood so far, it is probably the ‘I’. One reason for the lack of its understanding may be that it is often and involuntarily changing its form, position or state and its areas of operation, due to motivation by its own internal damage. When we understand different states of the ‘I’, we get to understand the process of the mind in its entirety.

Intellectual expression or example can never become the thing it represents. Still it is often a useful hint for understanding others expressions. Following diagram is only schematic and it depicts the ‘I’ in its independent state from memory and its fragmented state, where it is partly and permanently dependent on replaying some selective area of knowledge in memory.

Schematic diagram showing the various states of the ‘I’

In Fig 1, it can be seen that the Main Operating Intelligence is independent or free from the memory, but with option and discretion to use it. In Fig 2, it can be seen that the Intelligence or ‘I’ is damaged or divided. In order to balance that instability, the Main Operating Intelligence is slanting and partially stuck in certain area/s of the memory replaying the same thing again and again, as in Religious and Political Ideologies. This is called as ‘conditioning’.

In Fig 3, it can be seen that though the ‘I’ is partially ‘conditioned’, it is also able to accurately perform particular type of tasks by deeply engaging in specific knowledge areas. This faculty is called as ‘skill’. Skill is often a focused and cultivated ability of intelligence, which is not a solution or an alternative to freedom from conditioning. Skill is possible in the physical or intellectual performances or in combination of both.

Can mankind afford to allow and also ignore this ‘manufacturing defect’?

Can mankind afford to allow and also ignore this ‘manufacturing defect’?

Accuracy, Brevity, Clarity, Relevance to Topic in expression on the part of the speaker or writer and ability to understand on the part of the listeners or readers, together are likely to cause an effective communication. It isn’t necessary to accept what the speaker says, but understanding is enough to open up unexplored areas and new possibilities.

One of the greatest problems of mankind is managing the problems of conflicts and violence, both within and outside the family. Various kinds of punishments, therapies, meditations and moral education seem to be temporary and palliative, because the disturbed intelligence replicates conflicts characteristically. The only way out seems to be to permanently prevent and eliminate the cause of conflicts.

Objective of this author is to discuss with fellow human beings, about an error being committed by elders in raising children, which can be compared to a ‘manufacturing defect’, because it is happening during the growing period of the brain. Hence, the question is whether mankind can afford to commit and also ignore the error, which is responsible for all its problems.

It is undeniable that nature has only one model of human brain and so all people can be said to have same type or model of the brain. Hence, being a produce of the brain, even the consciousness or intelligence has to be the same in everyone, in its basic structure, principles of operation and performance. Thus in its restful, alert, not-using-memory, meditative, default, primary, or childlike state, all humans must be able to perceive and respond absolutely similarly and thus without conflicts, in all situations.

Default state of intelligence is like the state of preset ‘zero reading’ in measuring instruments or gadgets, generally set before measuring a new event, as in gas station flow meters or weighing machines. If it isn’t reading zero, before using it or without any load, it is said to have a calibration error. Similarly only a ‘non-zero or conditioned intelligence’ can’t look newly, freshly, accurately and unbiasedly at the new situation.

Due to a similar error in perception, often people see the same situation differently and also respond differently to the same situation, thus causing conflicts. This error is due to a structural damage in the ever flowing consciousness, often causing dual and inaccurate perceptions. Fortunately, this damage is preventable in children and also reversible in adults.

This natural or zero state of perception of intelligence begins at birth for every human being. Unfortunately and gradually, it is lost in small children, due to a simple and avoidable error committed unknowingly and involuntarily, by parents or elders, in the early growing years of the brain.

This error in various proportions has caused a hierarchy of intelligence in human society, with least disturbed persons remaining at the top and highly disturbed people at the bottom and the middle class in between.

After the brain and the consciousness has grown fully, it is obvious that such a ‘manufacturing defect’ can’t occur in human intelligence or consciousness.

It is true that all human beings enjoy life in harmony and have unanimity in routine situations every day. However, in challenging situations, individual and organized conflicts arise often. For an unfragmented Intelligence, no situation is challenging, because it is not sticking to a standard or pre conditioned idea of the situation.

If not all, most people, at some time or other in their lifetime, can be heard talking or wishing for a ‘change or liberation’ of the human mind or life. This proves that there is a problem that is real and universal, but since it is not bothering all people at the same time, always or continuously, no one seems to be clear about what exactly has to be done and where.

However, if we are intelligent, we shall find a solution to ensure peace, prosperity and happiness in mankind, and this author can’t give a pill now for an instant change. Each one has to return on his own to the natural state, which is common to all.

Most religious texts have been saying that ‘truth alone can help liberate mankind’. In the present scenario of the unknown, hidden or invisible bondage of mankind, it may be obvious to say that Truth was either not-perceived or not-presented by any teacher effectively, so far. Nevertheless to help attain liberation or psychological freedom, the required truth has to be relevant, essential and effective enough, when used on themselves or on others.

In other words, that truth has to be universally effective and applicable. Further, interestingly and may be factually, if truth can be said to liberate mankind, the opposite also has to be true, that some untruths may have been causing or sustaining the bondage of mankind, which may get eliminated, if and when merely unraveled.

All authorities failed to liberate mankind from misery or disturbance, because they mistook misery arising from external behavior only. They preached human behavior as arising from ignorance. So, they went on giving new knowledge on behavior, which was not effective. Intelligence or the ‘I’ is both the producer and user of knowledge. Damaged or disturbed ‘I’ often produces inaccurate knowledge, which can bind or condition others. Accurate and true knowledge can never bind others.

Even a disturbed Intelligence or the ‘I’ can perceive accurate knowledge and pause or halt its own involuntary intellectual activity for a while. Then naturally the ‘I’ gets an opportunity to shake off its aberration to return to its default or pure ‘I’ state. Amazingly, the inbuilt characteristic of any living organ or process is to effortlessly regain its natural state, when rest is provided to it.

Presently Psychology or the Science of the Mind, is classified as a ‘Social Science’, because there are no universally applicable, acceptable or replicable laws or principles in it.  Pure Sciences like Physics and Chemistry are the collections of unraveled laws and principles that govern matter, energy and processes in nature. Scientific findings are generally said to be rational, reasonable, replicable and universally applicable. Present challenge for the disturbed Intelligence in mankind is merely to get rid of its disturbances to become natural only and nothing else.

How to protect Intelligence in children from getting permanently fragmented?

  1. Undoubtedly enormous amount of research work has been done on the visible parts of the human brain such as neurons, left and right brain etc., but in vain
  2. Let us discuss now about the ‘I’ that is common in all and at all times, when we are awake and even in dreams, which may be very important
  3. Great men may have expressed differently that the ‘I’ is undesirable and hence should be eliminated.
  4. However, this author perceives that the ‘I’ is natural and essential and it should only lose its aberrations or damages to function freely and naturally.
  5. It is undeniable that there is only one type or model of the brain in all human beings, all over the world
  1. Consciousness, Intelligence and the ‘I’ are different facets of the same phenomenon
  2. The ‘I’ is the produce or outcome of the brain, which is basically the same in all and is also capable of being stable, free and  independent
  3. The ‘I’ is a manifestation of energy in brain and hence they both grow up together
  4. Human brain functions roughly like a computer in its perceptions and  responses
  5. Hardware, Software and Power Supply together make a computer to work
  1. In all human brains, hardware is of the same type, software isn’t required and memory stores all old perceptions
  2. Energy or Power is supplied to the brain and there it is manifested as Intelligence or ‘I’
  3. The ‘I’ perceives and responds to situations by processing and using the memory
  4. Principle of Operation and Structure of Intelligence or ‘I’ are same in all, at birth
  5. External bodily hurts can often cause temporary structural damages to the growing ‘I’ or consciousness, but generally it corrects on its own, naturally after a while
  1. However, some structural damages can become permanent, if the returning or correcting process is halted by the interference of pampering by elders
  2. This damage is like division or forked power supply, causing dual perceptions
  3. Natural, original, main or operating intelligence perceives its own structural damage as pain or instability, which is generally referred to as misery
  4. Intelligence or the ‘I’ generally and habitually  escapes its perception of misery by engaging in thinking or indulging in Repetitive Intellectual Activities
  5. Intelligence often perceives misery or other emotions first and then blame it on an external cause or even vice-versa
  1. This structural damage or fragmentation often causes haphazard perception and responses, resulting in conflicts with similar responses of others
  2. It may be interesting to study how this division in consciousness may take place
  3. Brain (or intelligence) is grown only 25% or ¼ of its full size at birth of the baby
  4. After baby’s birth, it takes 5 long years for the ‘I’ or intelligence to grow fully
  5. In the first 5 years, children have tender body and nascent vulnerable intelligence
  1. Growing Intelligence is weak, so it can’t perceive high intensity hurts on body
  2. Unperceivable Physical Hurts send impulses of high intensity to senses center of brain
  3.       Being unable to perceive impulses fully, intelligence or ‘I’ gets divided or fragmented.
  4. It is normal for children to cry after hurts and return to normalcy after a while.
  5. However, due medical attention is a must for every hurt or crying child
  1. After giving medical attention, one may stay with child, but without pampering
  2. Pampering is emotional intervention that prevents the child to return to stability
  3. May pretend to ignore, but observe the crying child, till it returns to normalcy
  4. Pampering is harmless at all times, except when the child is hurt or crying
  5. Freedom and safety can be ensured to the child even in a protected cubicle
  1. Then the need for pampering and its consequent ill effects will not arise
  2. Pampering during crying stops this process of the ‘I’ in returning to normal state.
  3. Pampering done to stop the child’s crying, causes permanence of fragmentation.
  4. Situation of the world reflects the average performance of mankind
  5. When the actual diagnosis of the problem is found, cure may not be far away

A simple formula for protecting the stability of Intelligence of children is:
Don’t pamper children, when they are hurt and/ or crying, but treat them medically
Such children won’t become dependent or addicts to escapist drugs and other habits.
